In January 2024, Bird in Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord experienced a significant fire caused by an overheated kitchen exhaust fan. Although the fire suppression system helped contain the flames, the building sustained extensive smoke and water damage—prompting an 18 month journey of remediation and reconstruction.

This program will begin with a brief look at the restaurant’s history, the fire incident, and the path to reopening. Restoration Relief will then provide a project overview, sharing insights into the reconstruction timeline and the challenges encountered throughout the rebuild.

The session will then expand into a comprehensive presentation from Siemens, focusing on Building & Life Safety. This in depth segment will explore how modern life safety systems, code compliance, and best practices support facility resilience—before, during, and after critical incidents. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on current technologies, system integration, risk reduction strategies, and how strong safety infrastructure can fundamentally influence outcomes in both emergency response and long-term operations.

This event is ideal for facility managers, safety professionals, and anyone responsible for building systems, emergency planning, compliance, or capital projects.

Join us for real world insights paired with expert guidance on strengthening building and life safety within your own facilities.
